21. White Stork

(Presented by "ECOH" working committee)

Objective
This project idea is inspired by the participation of IBC member companies in large-scale infrastructure projects (pipelines etc.). The project envisages the implementation of special environmental protecting measures, in addition to any measures provisioned by national bodies aiming to protect nature and bird biodiversity, in particular the White stork.

  • Increase Habitats for living and reproduction of the white stork resulting from the implementation of conservation actions;
  • Expansion of international cooperation between European local communities related to the protection of the white stork.
  • Expanded partnerships with local non-governmental organizations, attraction of new members.

20. Lew Tolstoy European School in Berlin

(Presented by the IBC on recommendation by Gazprom Germania)

Objective
To rise attractiveness of the school building and of the learning process.

Approved as subject to financial support by the IBC at the IBC (former EBC) Presiding Committee meeting in December 2010.

In February 2011 the committee delegation "Ecology and Healthcare" visited school with sponsor's visit and conducted an ecology lesson.

In 2014 a trilateral memorandum of understanding has been signed between Lew Tolstoy School, Gazprom Education Center and Bulgarian School Sofia.

In January 2015 the committee delegation "Ecology and Healthcare” visited school together with a delegation from Bulgarian School Sofia and conducted an ecology lesson.

19. Liquefied natural gas (LNG) – Experience sharing with the transport sector in Eastern Europe; creating the right conditions for successful market development in the fuel sector

Objective
To deliver the right conditions for a successful market preparation of LNG as a fuel for heavy commercial traffic in transit zones between Eastern and Western Europe.

18. Computer Game - "Save the City"

(Presented by "ECOH" working committee)

Objective

  • to demonstrate and promote environmental and technological features and advantages of natural gas for energy, industry, transport, households in order to increase its share in consumption;
  • to induce players (public) to think about the public good - a healthier and more attractive environment, greater comfort of use, better health, etc.;
  • to draw the attention of and get players (public) involved in solving major environmental problems such as prevention of pollution of air and water, climate change, etc.

    17. Assessment of integral environmental and economic effect associated with the South Stream peoject for European countires

    (Presented by "ICON" working committee)

    Objective
    Comprehensive scientific analysis of environmental and economic effect on the European countries as consumers of the natural gas supplied by onshore and offshore pipeline during the implementation of the South stream project.

    16. Parental School System

    (Presented by "INFOC" working committee)

    Objective
    The main goal of this project is to improve pupil's and school staff's safety and therefore a realization of a comprehensive integrated solution for protection, communication and information exchange is foreseen in the project's framework.

    In the first place we intend to implement by this project a system, which would help us to reduce the number of criminal and violent acts by means of modern technologies and to enable the parents to be informed about the school events.

    15. Bicycle – Ecology and Health

    Objective
    The project aims at boosting environmental thinking, propagandizing the bicycle as universal environmentally-friendly means of transportation, ready for use in any various conditions and popularizing the healthy life-style.

    14. The secrets of Natural Gas for Schoolchildren

    (Presented by "Industry and Construction" working committee)

    Objective
    The creation of an educational resource for children in order to promote natural gas as eco-friendly and safe energy carrier.

    13. Environmental Consequences of Shale Gas Production in Europe

    (Presented by the "Industry and Construction" working committee)

    Objective
    Comprehensive scientific analysis of shale gas production technologies and experience of the USA and Canada and assessment of possible impacts on environment and population resultant from large-scale development of shale gas fields in Europe.

    The implementer of the project will be determined by results of meeting within an initial stage of the project.

    12. Ecology East-Far East Russia

    (Presented by the "Industry and Construction" and "Ecology and Healthcare" working committee)

    Objective
    development of schemes and registers to contribute to balancing economic activities and environmental demands.

    To be implemented by Gazprom Transgas Tomsk, E.ON Ruhrgas.

    11. EBC – a carbon neutral organization

    (Presented by the "Ecology and Healthcare" working committee)

    Objective
    achieving a carbon neutrality of the EBC in the frame of preparation for the 14th AGM, development of guidelines for carbon footprint calculation.

    To be implemented by Overgas, Gazprom Transgas Tomsk, E.ON Ruhrgas.

    10. Teleconsulting Health Center in Moscow

    (Presented by "Information and Communications" and "Ecology and Healthcare" working committees)

    Objective
    improvement of access to high quality health services for population in remote areas of Russia.

    To be implemented by ZAO Gaztelecom and Siemens Enterprise Communications Russia.

    Approved as subject to financial support by the Presiding Committee meeting in June 2010.

    On April 4, 2013 took place the opening ceremony of the Setchenov Medical Center.

     

    9. Natural Gas filling stations in Europe

    (Presented by ECOH and ICON Working Committees)

    Long-term objective
    making available a reference instrument on legal, taxation, marketing, technical and other conditions for construction and operation of the gas filling stations in European countries.

    The co-ordinator of the project on the part of the EBC is Mr. Friedhelm Wannagat, E.ON Ruhrgas AG and Mr. E. Pronin, Gazprom.
    Approved as subject to financial support by the Presiding Committee meeting in June 2010.
    The Project will be implemented by the EBC member company NGVRUS.

    Duration of the project: 18 months
    Start of the operation: 2010

    The project is fully implemented and paid in 2012.

     

    8. Yambol Project

    (Presented by the ICON and ECOH working committees)

    A project aimed at implementation of a pilot project in the town of Yambol by the end of 2009 with the sponsoring support by Overgas and EBC.

    Long-term objective
    reduction of energy losses in the process of energy production, distribution and utilization by using the best locally available energy mix and by offering an integrated package of services jointly with domestic partners.

    The co-ordinator of the project on the part of the EBC is Mr. Friedhelm Wannagat, E.ON Ruhrgas AG and Mr. Georgi Bazadzhiev, head of Energy Efficiency Department, Overgas. Approved as subject for financial support by the Presiding Committee meeting in 2009.

    7. Redesign of the Maloyaroslavets Internet Café Project

    (Presented by the INFOC working committee)

    A project aimed at complete modernisation and redesign of the Maloyaroslavets Internet Café

    To be realised by Gaztelecom, Siemens AG, and Administration of Maloyaroslavets

    Long-term objective
    further development of the Internet-Cafe project.

    Duration of the project: 6 months
    Start of the operation: January 2009

    Fully implemented and paid in June 2009.

     

    6. Technological Catalogue (Digital and Printed Versions)

    (Presented by the ICON and ECOH working committees)

    A project to be realized by the EBC member Academy of Technological Sciences of the Russian Federation

    Long-term objective
    analysis and export of Western Energy Saving Means by elaborating a catalogue of Western exportable technologies for the industrial and household purposes.

    The co-ordinator of the project on the part of the EBC is Mr. Friedhelm Wannagat, E.ON Ruhrgas AG,
    on the part of the Academy – Mr. Evgeniy Burmistrov.
    Approved as subject to financial support by the Presiding Committee meeting in December 2008.

    Duration of the project: 6 months
    Start of the operation: 2010

    Fully implemented and paid in 2011.
    Board accepts the catalog in the printing version and on a compact disk, it is distributed among the member companies of EBC.

     

    5. Mirroring Western Energy Efficiency Technologies (a study)

    (Presented by the ICON and ECOH working committees)

    A project of co-operation with the Clausthal University, Lower Saxony, Germany

    Long-term objective
    analysis and export of Western Energy Saving Means by elaborating a catalogue of exportable Western technologies for the industrial and household purposes to the Eastern European countries.

    The co-ordinator of the project on the part of the EBC is Mr. Friedhelm Wannagat, E.ON Ruhrgas AG.
    Approved and qualified as subject to financial support by the Presiding Committee meeting in November 2007.

    Duration of the project: 3 years
    Start of the operation: 2008

    Research is stopped at the beginning of 2011. The interim progress reports are there.

     

    4."Blue Fuel"

    (Presented by the ICON and ECOH working committees)

    Long-term objective
    installing Task Force to support fuel change in traffic and mass transport in the OSCE countries.

    The project is to be implemented in the frame of the "Blue Corridor" project, supported by G 8, St. Petersburg, and the UNECE.

    Approved and qualified as subject to financial support by the Presiding Committee meeting in June 2007.

    Duration of the project: 3 years

    Implementation record:
    2 out of 5 planned conferences successfully held in Sofia, Bulgaria, and Svetlogorsk, Russia.
    3-rd conference was held in 2011 in Moscow

    3. "Fellowship on Energy"

    (Presented by the "Human Resources, Education and Science" (HRES) working committee)

    Long term objective
    special training courses and programs for high potentials to be fitter for management, the creation of an energy network and the direct connection to practical business.

    2. Sustainable Energy Policies to Mitigate Energy Security Risks

    (Presented by the "Energy" working committee)

    A project of co-operation between the EBC and the UNECE Committee on Sustainable Energy.

      Long-term objective
      a broadly shared multilateral intergovernmental expert dialogue on energy security in one or more of the following areas:
    • data and information sharing and increased transparency
    • infrastructure investment and financing
    • legal, regulatory and policy framework
    • harmonisation of standards
    • research, development and deployment of new technologies
    • in which the energy security risks of UNECE member states can be diminished through the pursuit of sustainable energy policies.

    1. Energy Efficiency 21 UNECE - EBC Project

    (Presented by LBF, Energy, ICON and ECOH working committees)

    Co-funded by the EBC project in the process of implementation by the United Nations Fund for International Partnerships, UNECE.

    Long-term objective
    to assist South Eastern and Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia countries to enhance their energy efficiency, diminish fuel poverty arising from economic transition and meet the environmental treaty obligations under the UNECE.

    Approved and qualified as subject to financial support by the EBC at the Presiding Committee meeting in June 2006.
