On July 8, 2020 the IBC Committee «Information and Communication» held an on-line meeting for the first time in history since the congress was founded. The meeting chaired by the member of the Executive Committee, Schneider Electric Mr. Leonid Mukhamedov was dedicated to the topic: «O&G digitalization within new reality: conceptions, drivers, barriers and points of economic growth» and supported by SAP CIS. The on-line meeting was moderated by the “Russia 24” economic news anchor, Ms. Aleksandra Suvorova as a roundtable discussion.
Main stages on the way towards digital transformation of oil and gas enterprises have been discussed during the meeting. Industry representatives and experts shared a large number of practical examples, their plans for digitalization and the achieved results. In an open discussion, the roundtable participants were able to look at the problem of digitalization from various points of view.
The round table was attended by Director General of Gazprom Telecom LLC Nikolai Mezhuev, Director General of Gazprom Inform LLC Sergey Kaunev, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (CCI), member of the IBC Board of Directors Dmitry Kurochkin, Vice President of Schneider Electric, “Process Automation” Boris Muratov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Energy Strategy and Fuel and Energy Complex Development of the CCI of Russia, President of the Union of Oil and Gas Producers of Russia Genadiy Shmal, member of the Committee, Executive Director of intersectoral ThinkThank of Russian Union of Oil Producers, Anatoly Zamryi, Director of EY Business Consulting Department Denis Burak, Head of the Center for Expertise at SAP Denis Savkin, independent expert in the oil and gas industry Vyacheslav Mishchenko.
A pulse survey on the current situation in industry related to the pandemic, as well as on future topics for the committee meetings has been conducted during the roundtable. The survey results have been processed almost instantly and presented to the participants by the SAP expert by the end of the meeting. The survey showed that key digitalization technologies (practical examples of their application in various industries) as well as world practice in digital transformation (analysis of foreign and Russian experience) have been preferred among other suggested topics for future committee meetings by the participants.
In the final part of the meeting, an art historian Ms. Victoria Anisimova gave an on-line tour: “Impressionists: Paris through the eyes of innovative artists” as a symbol that even if the physical borders are closed, the meeting participants can still virtually visit the capital of France.
