On 8 June 2023 the Roundtable of the International Business Congress took place in Samarkand. The Congress gathered 91 participants from 40 companies and 12 countries: Bangladesh, Belarus, China, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Netherlands, Russia, Slovenia, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Vietnam, led by Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom.
The focal topic of the Roundtable: “Prospective technologies and equipment to improve the efficiency of hydrocarbon exploration, production, transportation, storage and processing”.
Participants were welcomed by Mr. Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom, and Mr. Azim Akhmedkhadjaev, First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Mr. Sardorbek Saidakhmedov, Head of the Oil and Gas Processing Department of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Mr. Alisher Bakhadirov, Head of the Gas Processing and Gas Chemistry Department of JSC Uzbekneftegaz, briefed the Roundtable participants on the development of the oil and gas chemistry sector in the country in general and in the company in particular. The participants were also shown a image video of the latest production capacities of Uzbekistan GTL. In turn, Mr. Ravshanzhon Yusupzhanov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uzbekgeophysika, spoke about modern methods and technologies of geophysical work applied in practice.
On behalf of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), Mr. Lei Qun, Deputy Director of the Exploration and Development Research Institute, gave the welcome address. Mr. Weng Dingwei, Director of the Technical Centre of the Exploration and Development Research Institute, concluded with a presentation on innovative hydraulic fracturing technologies for tight oil and gas reservoirs.
In his presentation, Mr. Sergey Menshikov, Member of the Management Committee, Head of Department of Gazprom, reported on modern technologies and equipment to improve the efficiency of natural gas exploration and production at Gazprom Group facilities.
The Managing Director of BAPEX, Mr. Shoeb, spoke via videoconference about the current situation in the country and the need for technological solutions to ensure efficient development of the gas industry in the Republic of Bangladesh.
The Roundtable also discussed current issues in the application of modern, high-performance space technology in the gas industry, which were presented by Mr. Petr Korvyakov, First Deputy General Director of Gazprom Space Systems.
A presentation on the work of the Gubkin Russian State Oil and Gas University branch in Tashkent was made by Mr. Abdulla Magrupov, Executive Director of the branch in Uzbekistan.
Mr. Andreas Boeldt, Coordinator of the IBC Board, spoke about the current activities and development prospects of the International Business Congress.
In addition to the business programme, members and guests of the IBC International Roundtable had the opportunity to visit historical monuments of ancient Samarkand and attend a gala reception with unforgettable performances by traditional folklore groups from Uzbekistan.
